Your love story is a one-of-a-kind romance that you’ve spent years writing. So, when you’re planning your wedding, why settle for a venue that’s anything less than extraordinary? As a Greensboro wedding photographer, I’ve gotten the unique chance to have a backstage look at all the best venues in the area. If you’re searching for an absolutely magical spot for your special day, I would love to tell you what you can expect from a Providence Cotton Mill wedding!
4137 Providence Mill Rd, Maiden, North Carolina 28650
Providence Cotton Mill is a positively dreamy space that dates back to the early 1800s when the area was used as an iron forge during The War of 1812. Following the war, it became all but forgotten until the site was picked for the construction of a cotton mill in 1888. For years, the mill was such a bustling place, it spurned the construction of other nearby mills. Today, the historic building combines nature with industry to provide you with a wedding venue unlike any other.
Providence Cotton Mill is an open-air wedding facility with glassless windows that look out into the surrounding forests. Most couples choose to use the interior as their ceremony space. You’ll have partially exposed brick, high ceilings, and concrete floors. You can dress it up with blush roses or moody dark bouquets to match your vibe. The exterior provides you with a paved terrace and a flat lawn. You can use both of these options for an outdoor ceremony.
The interior provides an amazing reception venue with plenty of space for your guests. A stage for a DJ or a live band can easily be brought in. Some nature-loving couples have chosen to have an outdoor reception beneath the sparkling bistro lights of the terrace.
The terrace tends to be the favored spot for a cocktail hour. The area can easily accommodate high-top tables so your guests can order signature cocktails and take in the serene surroundings.
The venue features a wing that can be used as a bridal suite or a groom’s room, so you can get comfy while putting on those finishing touches.
No matter your party size, the venue is ready to host you! They can accommodate up to 700 guests and have specialized packages for intimate elopements.
The interior of the building is completely open and spans two stories. Exposed brick pops out from beneath the layers of age-worn white plaster. The ceiling features raw wooden rafters with bistro lights and chandeliers. The brick exterior is ivy-draped with arched windows and cobbled walkways.
The Providence Cotton Mill is full of spaces that are perfect for your wedding portraits. The surrounding woods give you a gorgeous backdrop, while the building itself is truly iconic. There are various open-air walkways you can use for your first look portraits. Because the windows are completely open, you can count on sun-soaked ceremony pictures whether you’re indoors or outside.
The Providence Cotton Mill wedding venue will provide you with all the tables and chairs you need for your day. They do not have a designated catering, allowing you to create your dream cuisine. The entirety of the venue is wheelchair-accessible. They allow amplified music both indoors and out.
With the Providence Cotton Mill wedding venue, you will have a dreamy space for your special day. As far as capturing all those details, that’s where I come in!
