Throughout your wedding day, you need some variety! Whether you lean toward the classically chic or the warm and rustic, you need the spot that speaks to your heart. Luckily The Upchurch in Cary offers you every setting you could possibly need! As a North Carolina wedding photographer, I spend a lot of time going behind the scenes at the best venues. Here’s what you can expect when you choose the Upchurch wedding venue!
7213 Roberts Road, Cary, North Carolina 27519
The Upchurch is a historic wedding venue dating back to 1905. Before it served as a space to write the next chapter of your love story, it was a private family residence. In 2014, a local preservation office went to work removing the non-original parts of the house and moving the whole thing slightly down the road. Today, it gives couples a scenic space where they can have their dream wedding, no matter what that looks like.
The Upchurch venue has been curated to give you everything you could possibly need for your wedding day. Your celebration will kick off in the Main House, where you will have one of two dressing suites to use. Brides tend to use the large white dressing room with antique French accents, while the grooms often prefer the modern wooden room with leather furniture and plenty of space for celebratory drinks. Once you are ready, you can head to the ceremony site. People who prefer an indoor space can use The Conservatory, where you can exchange vows in a blank white space accented with rustic wooden beams. If you would rather have an outdoor ceremony, you can head to the Magnolia Lawn, where you can get married in a circular clearing surrounded by towering trees.
For your ceremony, I highly recommend The Patio outside the Main House. Your guests will enjoy the most divine cocktails while strolling around the breathtaking space.
Finally, your reception can be hosted either inside The Conservatory or outside in the Magnolia Lawn. No matter what you choose, get ready to feast before ending the night with lots of dancing! The Upchurch is able to hold up to 250 guests for your wedding day.
As a wedding photographer, you know I am constantly thinking about places you can use for a backdrop! I love how bright and sunny the dressing suites are in The Main House. The lighting is ideal for candid snapshots as you prepare for the day! The wrap-around porch of the Upchurch wedding venue is going perfect for pics with your party. You can also use it for your first look pics. Lastly, The Magnolia Lawn is great for group pictures as well as intimate couple portraits!
Finally, let’s chat about all the ways the Upchurch wedding venue is going to hook you up! They have an in-house caterer for easy menu planning, and let me say, they are exceptional at what they do! The Upchurch will take care of the tables, the chairs, and custom-built bars. Your guests will have parking on-site, and you will have an on-site coordinator making sure you have everything you need for a seamless day!
